Standing with those of you who have been the minorities, diversities, the stigmas, the statistics, the stereotypes.
.
.
Anyone who’s been ever been thought of, or thought of themselves as anything LESS than an amazing person created with dignity, value, & PURPOSE by a God who loves them, ALL His children equally. God also doesn’t look at outward appearances, He looks at our hearts. [ read 1 Samuel 16:7 ]
“The lord does not look at the things man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
.
.
With that being said, I want to challenge & ask us all, myself included... where are OUR hearts at? Have we done the daily check ins to see when we are buying into societal views or conditioned beliefs we may have grown up with or learned?
.
.
I’m an advocate through and through. My husband will tell you this non stop & I get it the highest on my 13 personalities test. I have always had the strong conviction to speak up for those that couldn’t speak for themselves. Whether that’s them being bullied, made fun of, or treated in anyway that I personally wouldn’t feel good if I was being treated that way.
.
.
I grew up in CA, I know my Montana state & Utah are coming a little farther in culture but there is still prodominantly white populations, & it’s been interesting to me living different places & understanding that not everyone really gets it. They don’t understand that there may be some things that they have conditioned to believe, heck possibly by their grandparents or who knows, maybe family ties back to the south, or the other parts of the world where slavery was very much something that occurred in a different time yes, but not that different.
.
.
FACT: we have more slaves now than ever. #endhumantrafficking #fightthenewdrug
.
.
Yet there has been an ignorance almost to what it would be like to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. I don’t know if that comes from a lack of empathy or culturally, sometimes we could even do it subconsciously.
.
.
But learning from friends of mine growing up, really taught me to love those around me. And it feels so evil to look another human in the eye & choose to see them as less than human. Especially making a judgement before I even have any of the facts in front of me, or know who they are, not what color skin they have, what mental illness they have, or what they weigh.
