trim wick 1/4 every time lighting it. watch out for suttee. make sure you try to not burn your candles longer than four hours at a time. this will help preserve the candle and the benefits of the essential oils used are already in the air infusing your space!
it will also help to make sure your wick doesn't get too long. be careful of that so you don't get too big of a flame, which will cause the black smokey effect that we don't want!
if the "ash" or whatever it may be, comes off while the candle is burning, you will have to get it out when the wax is melted otherwise it will harden with your candle when you blow it out.
